Cloud hosting represents a fundamental shift in how internet services are delivered to the market. Most importantly, it enables customers of all sizes the ability to utilize minute or massive amounts of infrastructure on demand, along with the flexibility to only pay for what they use, when they use it. Ultimately, this results in elastic and responsive IT solutions for businesses across a wide array of industry verticals.
How Does it Work?
Traditional hosting is comprised of single servers, or groups of servers. Each server would have IP's (networking) mounted on it, would contain CPU and RAM (processing) as well as disk drives (storage). The Cartika Cloud separates and isolates computing into 3 specialized layers.
- Networking Layer - This layer handles all IP communication. By removing IP binding and handling from physical servers, The Cartika Cloud is able to remove Cloud Servers reliance to physical servers. This allows your Cloud Servers to freely move between physical nodes as required for High Availability or simply to increase or decrease capacity.
- Processing Layer - In the Cartika Cloud, servers become nothing more then a pool of resources (CPU and RAM) which cloud servers can draw from when, and as required. Because Networking and Storage are separated from physical servers, Cloud Servers are able to move amongst physical servers and upsize or downsize their CPU and RAM requirements whenever required.
- Storage Layer - This is where all Cloud Server Data is housed. Fully redundant, infinitely scalable NetApp based Cloud Storage allows Cloud Servers the ability to infinitely, securely and reliably scale their storage requirements however they desire.
